Specialists

The archaeologists of the Society for Prehistoric Research in Hainaut, working on the site of Spiennes (minesdespiennes.org), conduct guided tours of the mines for groups of specialists: departments of archaeology of universities, history, archaeology and geology associations, … The visits can be given in French, Dutch and English.

For these specialised visits as for any other group visits, prior booking with VisitMons is necessary: either by phone (065/40.53.48) or by email (groupes@ville.mons.be)

Free entrance for one accompanying staff member per groups of maximum 20 persons.

• On the surface (permanent exhibition) :
  • 45 minutes
  • Maximum 20 persons
  • 50€ /group (week day and Saturday) - 65€ /group(Sunday, night visit, public holidays )
• With visit of the mines :
  • 1h30
  • Maximum 12 persons
  • Entrance + 95€/group (surface guided tour, security for the descent and underground visit) –From the age of 10 – max. 12 persons.
